MillworkMillwork
We supply and install a full range of MDF and solid hardwood moulding profiles — from simple ranch-style casings to elaborate crown mouldings. MDF profiles are ideal for painted applications; hardwood profiles for stained and natural wood interiors.
All profiles are measured and cut with precision mitre and coping joints. We nail, fill, caulk, and prime ready for paint, or stain and varnish in the field for wood applications.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I use MDF or hardwood profiles for painted trim?
MDF is the better choice for painted applications. It has no grain, doesn't expand and contract with humidity the way wood does, takes primer and paint very smoothly, and is less expensive than hardwood. Hardwood profiles are better when you want a stained or natural finish because MDF cannot be stained - it absorbs unevenly and looks blotchy.
How are profiles matched when renovating an existing home?
We measure the existing profiles and either source matching stock from our suppliers or have them custom-milled if the profile is unique. Older homes often have profiles that are no longer available off-the-shelf. In those cases we work with a profile mill to replicate the original. We always do a dry-fit comparison on site before installing.
Do MDF profiles come primed?
Most MDF moulding we supply comes pre-primed from the factory, which saves significant time on site. Some profiles are available raw if the painter prefers to prime themselves. Pre-primed MDF just needs a light sand, one coat of primer touch-up in any cut areas, and two finish coats of paint for a clean result.
How long does profile installation take?
Crown moulding in a standard 12x14 ft room takes about half a day including cutting and touch-up. A full home with crown, base, and casings typically runs 3-5 days depending on the number of rooms, ceiling height, and profile complexity. We quote by linear footage and room count so you have a clear picture of the timeline.
