Carpet

Broadloom roll goods remain the most versatile and cost-effective carpet solution for large areas. We carry cut-pile, loop-pile, and pattern carpet in widths up to 15 feet to minimize seams in residential and commercial installations.

How It Works

We measure the space to minimize waste, seam-map the installation, deliver and acclimate the carpet, install padding, stretch, and seam the carpet using heat-bond tape. Final power-stretch ensures no ripples over time.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you place seams in broadloom carpet, and will they be visible?

We map seams during the planning phase and place them in low-traffic, low-visibility locations - away from doorways and out of direct light paths where a seam would catch the eye. All seams are heat-bonded with seam tape. A well-done seam in a good location is nearly invisible. Poor seam placement or a rushed heat bond is what makes seams show.

Does pile direction matter when installing broadloom carpet?

Yes - carpet has a pile direction, and all sections in a room should run the same way. Pile running toward the main viewing angle typically looks best. When seaming, we always ensure pile direction is consistent across the seam so there's no noticeable colour change where sections meet.

How long does carpet installation take for a whole floor?

A full main floor with 3-4 rooms and a hallway typically takes 1 day for installation. A multi-level home with stairs and multiple floors takes 1-2 days. We do furniture moving as part of the job. Floor prep (removing old flooring, installing tack strips and pad) is included in the timeline.

What happens to seams in broadloom carpet over time?

Quality heat-bonded seams hold well for the life of the carpet when installed correctly. They can become more noticeable over time in very high-traffic areas as the carpet pile on both sides flattens and the seam line becomes more defined. Using a power stretcher (not just a knee kicker) during installation keeps the carpet tight and prevents seam stress from rippling.
